Card security and customer verification

When accepting a credit- or debit card payment from a customer, we use the address tied to the card to authenticate the cardholder. After entering or scanning card details, we will ask details about your customers address, such as post code, in order to ensure the person paying you is the owner of the card.

This is to protect our merchants from fraudulent transactions, where someone for instance pays you with a stolen card, take your product and a few days later you incur a dispute from the legitimate owner of the card. If this were to happen you risk having provided a customer with a product and also incurring a chargeback and taking a loss.
